Moral decay...... Image taken at a country cemetery abandoned church in Coshocton County Ohio.
I don’t know when this church was built the oldest stones in the cemetery are from the late 1840’s.
All of the pews are still present in the building as is a piano. The floor has caved in in several places though from the roof leaking, and some of the fixtures are no longer in very good shape. . There is a partition that runs down the middle of the church dividing it into two halves one side for the men and the other for the women. I am searching for the historical information about this church if and when I find it I will add it.

This is lovely.
I can tell you that it was probably Minnonite or reformed Friends. The Amish, Minnonite and Quaker (Friends)all used to partition the men and women, but old Amish and Old Quaker would not have had a piano. Some Minnonite and reformed Quaker churches would have had a piano. Baptist, Methodist and Presbyterians would have no separate sections for the sexes.

your very welcome :)

If I ever find it out I will write it my friend.
I probably will find it because there is so much
to shoot here that I keep replaying it in my head.
What did I miss? Why didn't I try it this way?
You know what I mean? I'll definitely be going back here.
Bound to bump into someone that knows.

I think this is my favorite from this series, Jack and more because of the tone of the picture than anything. (We came, we built it and we neglect it to our satisfaction) Your title fits very well in relation to the shot and says a lot with no further explaination needed.

Excellent! :+fav:

Thanks John. I think its my favorite of this
series also. For the reasons you have stated
plus some technical ones as well. When I was
shooting these though, in my mind at least,
I had great hopes for the window shot. Several
issues combined though make it less than I
envisioned. One of those situations where
what you plan becomes seemingly impossible.

Its funny how things turn out isn't it? I wonder
if I'll ever grow enough as a photographer to
actually foresee all the limitations that come
into play when I'm planning this stuff out?
